Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
This notice explains what personal data OKumen collects through okumen.com and when you get in touch, why, and the choices you have. I collect as little as I can.
Who is responsible
OKumen LLC, a Florida limited liability company run by John O'Keeffe, is responsible for your personal data. You can reach me about anything in this notice at [email protected].
What I collect
- When you use the contact form or email me: your name, email address, company, the service you're interested in and anything you write in your message.
- When you visit the site: the hosting provider automatically processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type so it can deliver the page and protect it from attacks.
This site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media plug-ins. Its fonts are stored on the site itself, so loading a page does not send your data to a font service.
Why I use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to discuss or set up an engagement. This is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To keep the website secure and working. This is in OKumen's legitimate interest in running a safe website.
Your data is never sold or added to marketing lists.
Who it's shared with
A small number of service providers process data on OKumen's behalf and only on its instructions:
- Web3Forms, which delivers contact form submissions to my inbox.
- Microsoft, which hosts OKumen's business email.
- Cloudflare, which hosts and protects this website.
These providers may process data in the United States. Where data about people in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom is transferred, they rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long it's kept
Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a client, in which case records are kept for as long as the law or our contract requires. Hosting logs are kept only briefly by Cloudflare.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how it's used, and receive a copy in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. I'll reply within one month.
If you are in the European Economic Area, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
